Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Q: Why doesn't text chat work with my browser?

A: First, you need to make sure that you have a recent version of one of the major browsers. You need at least Internet Explorer 3.6 or Netscape 4.x. Second, you need to make sure that Java is enabled in your browser. In Netscape this is under Edit->Preferences->Advanced. In Internet Explorer this is under Control Panel->Internet Options->Security->Custom Level.  

Q: How do I ignore someone who is offending/bothering me?

A: To ignore a user, simply select the user's name from the user list and click ignore.

Q: Is it possible to view Text Chat in a larger window?

A: By simply clicking the float button, Text Chat is able to be changed to any desired size or position on your screen.

Q: I want to send a private message to a user. How is this done?

A: Select the user's name from the user list and the Private box will be automatically highlighted. Only the user selected will be able to see the message (you will notice that your name and the name of the recipient with be enclosed in double quotes, indicating that you have sent a private message). To switch from Private chat to Public chat mode, select the All Users entry from the user list.

Q: Can WebTV users use Text Chat?

A: CHURCHLIVE's Text Chat is currently not supported by the WebTV technology.

We use Flash to broadcast our Church Services. All the latest browsers have Flash in-built. If you are having trouble hearing streaming audio you may need to download the latest version of Flash.
